Founded in 2008, the roots of this company stretch back even further to 1795, when one of their founder's ancestors advocated for forest stewardship in a seminal work. Inspired by this legacy, the founder of Original Beans, Philipp Kauffmann, left a career at the United Nations to establish one of the world's first climate-positive companies, offering the simple pleasure of extraordinary chocolate. Together, they endeavor to regenerate what they consume.

Known as "cacao hunters," Original Beans' work evokes images of daring expeditions through dense forests in pursuit of precious bean treasures. Yet, their mission goes beyond mere extraction; it is about regeneration.

Unlike other chocolate companies that come and go, they remain steadfast. From their initial encounters in remote villages to the certification of their partners as "Craft Cacao by Original Beans," they stand alongside—and for—the communities they work with.

Our chocolate makers proudly refrain from using any artificial stabilizers or preservatives in their products, making their creations more temperature-sensitive compared to other premium chocolates.

To ensure the optimal taste experience, it's advisable to store our chocolates in a cool, dry place where the temperature hovers between 16°C and 18°C. Please refrain from refrigerating our chocolates, as this may cause sugar crystallization due to increased humidity, altering their texture and flavor.

On the contrary, if stored in excessively high temperatures, cocoa butter may separate and form a white film on the chocolate's surface. This loss of cocoa butter can lead to the chocolate drying out and, consequently, a potential alteration in flavor. Your mindful storage practices will help preserve the integrity of our delectable chocolates.
